I hazard to say at least one of you (my seester) is wondering what our menu was for yesterday's big Thanksgiving feast so here it is in all its glory, mostly anyway. For the sake of "image control" I did not take a photo of our loaded plates. Darn!
As is usual, there were some repeats on our menu because afterall holidays are all about favorites (see links), and of course there were new first time attempts too, some of which were more successful than others. Isn't that just the way it goes?
In my opinion, two of the stellar newbies include the Butternut Squash Bisque (fabulous, utterly fabulous), and the Pumpkin Struesel Pie made because Mary at One Perfect Bite said it was amazing and believe me it is. I substituted rum for the bourbon and pecans for walnuts but otherwise made it as she posted so hit this link and head to her site for the recipe.
Happy day after everyone. Aren't leftovers just the best?
Butternut Squash Bisque with Orange Cream
Rolled Stuffed Turkey with Forcemeat Stuffing
and Pan Gravy
Apple Dried Fruit and Sausage Stuffing
Gratineed Mustard Creamed Onions
Slow Roasted Beets with Shallots and Rosemary
Brussels Sprout Slaw with Mustard Dressing and Maple Glazed
Pecans
Fantail Regrigerator Rolls, Cranberry Dried Cherry Sauce
Mashed Idaho and Sweet Potato Combo
Rum Pumpkin Tart with Pecan Streusel Topping
What a lovely feast - and I bet the left overs are even better today!

What a feast! A great way to keep the turkey moist using a forcemeat fill and all those sides. You probably didn't have to cook for days. T and I had Thanksgiving at Auriole in Vegas this year.

It is a great way to cook a bird and makes some pretty outstanding sandwiches too but you're right about not having to cook for days. I finally gave up and froze the rest of the leftovers. Ha. Hope you had a super trip!
