Oh boy! I could just leave it at that and hope you'll make 'em really soon, because honestly these maple flavored chicken wings, loaded with garlic, salty from soy and teriyaki and sweetened with real maple syrup are darn near addictive.
They'll be perfect for any of you football fanatics because if you put 'em in the oven just before the game starts, by half time you'll be chowing down on their tender deliciousness. All they need is a couple of hours in the oven with a shake up every now and then and they're done but for goodness sake, make them in a disposable pan or there's no doubt you'll be cursing me big time.
We enjoyed our wings on a bed of spicy peanut noodles loaded with crunchy veggies and a touch of spicy Sriracha heat. Oh so good!
Maple Chicken Wings (from JBug’s Kitchen adapted from foodnetwork.com)
3 pounds chicken wings
1/3 cup teriyaki sauce
1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1/2 tablespoon coarse ground black pepper
1 cup real maple syrup
Wash and dry chicken wings. Arrange in a large disposable aluminum foil pan. Preheat oven to 350. In a small container with a tight fitting lid combine teriyaki, soy sauce, garlic, spices and maple syrup, secure cover and shake to combine ingredients. Pour over chicken wings and toss to coat. Bake for 1 hour, turning wings half way during baking period. Increase oven temperature to 425 and bake for another 45 minutes or until sauce is reduced and wings are a rich color. Give wings a stir every 15 minutes so they brown evenly.

They are great and I also found out they multiply overnight. My lunch container had 6 in it last night and by the time I opened it for lunch today it had 7! Interesting?!

Now, that's what they call good karma. Just think - maybe by the time you get home the bottle of gin will be full again too.

Wow, now that is a recipe for goodness! I have even stocked my pantry with maple syrup just because of the JBug influence, so just need to go out and get some wings. I miss the Big Guy JBug banter...thanks for making me laugh you two. :)

I even did soba noodles with peanut sauce and crunch veggies - YUM! I have a special lunch tomorrow - and I am happy!

Lea - so glad you tried 'em and I bet the drums were wonderful! A lot more meat than wings and I'm sure every bit as tender....and soba with peanut sauce. OMG is right!
