Big Guy cooked dinner last night while I sat on my behind in my favorite bar stool and coached from the cheap seats. Quite honestly I'm not sure how he puts up with it but it is incredibly difficult for me to keep my mouth shut when there's someone else in what I consider to be "my domain".
Last night's dinner menu included lovely pure white cod fillets that were oh so crisp on the outside and perfectly moist and delicous on the inside. Big Guy simply coated them in flour, then in a mixture of mayonnaise, Dijon mustard and a beaten egg, and finally in panko crumbs before giving them a quick fry in a small amount of vegetable oil ...and all this while listening to me chirp. He just smiled and gave me the "look". It's amazing really.
He's leaving today for what he calls a "stroll in the hole" - a four day hike from the south rim to the north rim of the Grand Canyon accomplished while carrying a 41 pound pack on his back. It's certainly not my idea of a great vacation but he's been training, planning and anticipating for months and now it's finally here. He's going with the Zimmerman guys - 4 brothers he grew up next door to eons ago in Pendleton, Oregon so at least I don't have to worry about him hiking alone this time. Just imagine the stories! Yikes!

Wow - you got 2 days in a row in the peanut gallery while the Big Guy spoiled you with delectable delights - you lucky woman! I know you are going to miss the Big Guy, but those peas will be a good comfort for you - hehehehehehehe. I bet you were enjoying the view from that stool - of your new kitchen - of course!

I am spoiled, aren't I? Yes, the kitchen view is rather lovely, but the other view's pretty interesting too! We ordered the back splash tile over the weekend, so we're almost at the end of our renovations. As for the peas - you KNOW I'll be cooking them pdq.

So what are you going to do with your four days!!

Pam - it's actually 6 days because he's not back till late Saturday (takes a day to get there and one to get back). I'm not sure except I'll likely not be cooking as much. I'm going to shop for drapery fabric and make drapes and throw pillows for our den, if I can make a decision that is. I also plan to read a couple of books, take a lot of naps and drink my share of wine. Kinda' sounds like a vacation doesn't it?

Sounds like you have your mini vacation planned. Good job on the fish BG!

Yes, if I can only get motivated to accomplish half of what I planned. We're into the triple digits here which makes me want to nix the fabric shopping because the Miata doesn't have AC. (Good excuse isn't it)
