Yup, that's what we're doing. We're camping out in the back yard while we enter our second week of kitchen renovations. Big Guy got the outside kitchen area all set up and even showed this camping newby how he does dishes. It ain't pretty so we'll be using as many of the disposable version as possible. Ha.
Big Guy even cooked both meals yesterday including this lovely steak that you're looking at and that was after accomplishing all the jobs on a very long list AND shopping for dinner. What you see on top of the steak is a compound butter including garlic and blue cheese - we had it hiding in the freezer for just the right occasion.
What else is new? Well, I finally made a decision on cabinet hardware and placed the order plus Big Guy got the water to the refrigerator hooked up and the stove's back where it is supposed to be too. I spent the day trying to get the house semi organized and it took me hours to line the drawers and shelves of our new cabinets so they'd stay looking as good in the future as they do today. It's a real bear of a job isn't it? But it is done. I had the foresight to use vinyl wallpaper instead of the usual shelf paper and it works like a dream!
Today I'm going to try to get as much of the kitchen unpacked as possible, go for groceries, tackle the mountain of laundry that's accumulated over the past week, hopefully win the first battle against all the dust, and cook something relatively interesting for dinner so you all keep coming back. At least that's the plan so we'll see what really happens. TTFN
I see you guys are really suffering without a kitchen - hehehehehehe. One word - YUM!
Good for you lining those cabinets and drawers with vinyl wallpaper - smart move - very durable stuff!
I wonder what your hardware will look like... hhhhmmmmmmmmmmm......... I am so excited to see the finished product!!!!

That little bbq of yours sure comes in handy (as well as your BG). It will all be over soon!

You're so right Lorraine, on all counts. I think that little gas grill has converted Big Guy from a strictly charcoal kinda' guy.
