As I indicated earlier yesterday, dinner last night was at the Salty Dawg, an Alsea Bayside restaurant/bar that's a local favorite and one of ours too.
The food is darn tastie basic diner style with some extra twists - like the panko coated cod I had last night with chips, the Big Guy's calamari with chips, and burgers they really fuss over ...as in flat top cooked with huge fresh grilled buns and darn near every topping you can imagine. They have fabulous fried chicken and surprisingly good Mexican food, never mind a special every night (last night's was fresh and I mean fresh grilled halibut).
Alas the oysters the Big Guy was craving were not available so we'll be making a trip to Newport to pick some up at the oyster farm PDQ. Meanwhile, you'll be hearing about the Salty Dawg again because we love the place, their great food, fabulous service and cheeky smiling waitresses.
That looked like a tastie dinner for sure!!! I would have had the halibut special! Love the server - she looks like a hoot! - Now - about those oysters..............

Lea - yup...oysters....I have a friend from the bayou who's given me the "envie" for some oysters! Just wish she was here to cook'em (and walk the beach with me too...and drink wine!)

Our favorite restaurant in Waldport - hands down. In fact, we're thinking you might want to name booth after us. LOL
