That's a mouthful of a title isn't it, as if the picture's not enough. We were watching Guy Fieri over the weekend and saw this one on Diner's Driveins and Dives and thus were inspired. A burger made of 80/20 ground beef, grilled on the flattop and loaded with gooey melted creamy blue cheese, then topped with bacon, crisp onion rings filled with caramelized onions cooked in bourbon (Gentleman Jack if you want to be specific) and a little maple syrup along with some sauteed mushrooms...well, pardon me if I wouldn't like to do it all again right this second, but it seems a little excessive at 6 in the morning. Quite honestly it was a little excessive at 6 last night too.
Sorry I have no recipes to share with you today, just a mouthwatering picture and the memories of pure bliss. I mean, what's better'n a burger. Right?
By the way, the onion rings were about the best I've ever made - sweet onions cut into quarter inch rounds, soaked in a mixture of milk, egg, salt and hot sauce then coated in flour with a scouch of cornmeal. Fried for a minute per side in a half inch of vegetable oil, they were crisp, tender, and exceedingly light. I promise to make 'em again soon so I can measure everything out and share the secret with ya.
Oh yum - wait - I am getting my plane ticket to come visit! heehehehehe

Lea - I like how you think...chicken curry, green peas, burgers, fun, laughs and great food with my Cajun friend. Perfect! Oh...don't forget the shrimp. Ha.
