Without question there are times a picture is worth a thousand words and I have a feeling this is one of them, so without further ado knock yourselves out.
I wish I had knocked myself out before over indulging in this gargantuan plateful, never mind the glass of cheap red that went along with it. I had nightmares last night no doubt brought on by too much excess. So was it worth it? Do bears leave scat in the woods?
Big Bacon Blue Burgers
1-1/2 pounds freshly ground chuck *
2 Tablespoons coarse grain
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tablespoons dried minced onion
1 Tablespoon
Coarse ground pepper
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1/2 cup chopped roasted red pepper
1 egg
Combine ingredients together and form into 4 large patties, suited to the
shape of the buns you are using. Refrigerate until ready to cook. Heat grill
pan over medium high until almost smoking. Spray with cooking spray. Cook
burgers for 4 minutes per side (medium) or to desired doneness.
4 Panini buns
8 slices bacon, cooked till crisp
4 slices Blue Granite Jack Cheese (or any blue cheese)
Sliced tomatoes
Grilled Onions
Lettuce
Prepare burgers with desired toppings. Enjoy.
(Note: - in the interest of being perfect honest with you all as I've promised to be, we actually only made 3 burgers with the 1.5 pounds of ground chuck because our Panini buns were so darn BIG, so please adjust accordingly. The ground chuck was meat that we ground ourselves after purchasing a whole chuck roast at an unbelievably cheap price. We'll be doing that again, because the flavor and texture of the ground meat is much better and more than worth the effort never mind that you know what's in it.)
I think I love bacon cheese burgers more than just about anything on earth except chocolate - well - maybe even more than chocolate!!! And this one would probably be up there on top of the list of the best ones -- gotta try it!

Lea - it was purdy darn tasty but I'm not sure I'd pick it ahead of chocolate. I mean, CHOCOLATE. Come on!

Do bears leave scat in the woods...LMAO!!!!
We had grilled cheeseburgers tonight but the highlight of the sandwich was the fat slice of heirloom tomato that we picked up at the farmer's market this morning. Oh man, was that ever good!

Wahhhh Mags. I'm so jealous re the heirloom tomato. We tried growing some here last year and they literally fried on the vine. Bad, bad, bad.
