Believe me, there was nothing colorful about last night's main course for dinner. If Wikipedia needed a new definition for "milquetoast" this would be it. "Bland, ineffectual" - appearance wise it certainly fit the description, although taste was another story altogether but only after I added my touch.
I took it upon myself to add some spices to this pot and believe me it needed it. Without the kick of thyme, Italian seasoning, some red hot chili peppers, and a ton of black pepper it is not quite good enough for a repeat in my books - certainly not "as is". For those of you who enjoy subtle flavors, this would turn your crank big time. Hey Mags here's a good recipe for your sisters! Check it out on my recipes.com. I just can't bring myself to reprint something rated as "outstanding" that needs this much work...so how did I really feel about it, right?
One more thing before I let you out of my clutches, this morning got off to a rather rocky start. Spring in the desert other than bringing rain yesterday, also means there's lots of little critters running about. Georgie and Max are in rabbit heaven these days as there seem to be a multitude of the little sweethearts - let's just say there's a few less today than there were yesterday. I'm just sick that my two extremely well fed creatures are responsible for the demise of something so sweet and innocent, even though we've done our best to rescue them when we can.
Course all of that said - I'm married to another extremely well fed guy that just got back from hunting peccaries. Oh and yes, he's the same guy that laughed this morning as I showed him a dustpan with what was left of a teeny tiny little furball and he said "there's not much lower on the food chain than a rabbit". Boy, he's sure lucky he's at work right now because Max wouldn't be the only one in the doghouse. I rest my case.
Ugh - turkey.... You know how I feel about that... No bunny is safe where you are, either? Our fence will go up soon and the bunnies in the woods will breath a sigh of relief.

Lea - hey girl. Has Pierre left the building? Ya, I know you're not a turkey lover, but you could substitute ground chicken. Still it is not necessarily the best pasta dish in the world so on second thoughts, never mind!

Hey, Brown food is my favorite food! I love it!

Ha, ha - I'd agree somewhat if it is fried chicken, peanut butter pie, caramel anything or CHOCOLATE!

Ground turkey takes a lot of "add ins" to make it fit for consumption, agreed. The seesters however, might find it right up their alley....LOL
And I know how you feel about those little bunnines. Sammie, our first dog, was a cairn terrier and he'd deliver those poor little things to our back door every day in the spring. He was just doing what he was bred to do, but it killed me every time to see it happen.

Heya "Gramma" Congratulations on your new little grandson. I mean, how exciting is that!
That darn cat, Mags. She brings them in "alive" and then her and Max gang up on them.Breaks my heart (until they get into the garden of course - if you can call what we've got a garden)! I figure I'll be singing a different tune after we're back in Oregon. LOL
