I don't understand. I don't understand how you can go to bed at night feeling wonderful and wake up in the morning all stiff and sore and full of aches and pains. I mean, how on earth can you hurt yourself sleeping? I don't understand how in my 20's and 30's and 40's I could get by on 6 hours sleep or less and now I can barely function on 8. And I certainly don't understand how I can eat a small container of yogurt for breakfast, a half bowl of soup for lunch, a moderate plateful at night and wake up in the morning up 3 pounds. I don't understand.
If I'd known the scale would be such a beast this morning, I would have eaten more of the country style pork ribs we had last night for dinner, and I know for a fact the cinnamon ice cream that's languishing in the freezer would have been history.
A Gourmet Magazine recipe, these pork ribs were quite wonderful - braised in a mixture of fresh orange juice along with soy sauce, garlic and ginger they darn well melted on the tongue. Fact is, I only made half the recipe because I didn't think I wanted the leftovers but I won't be doing that again. It was a plum stupid decision because these Asian flavored ribs would be wonderful wrapped up in a moo shu pancake and dipped in some of the left over cooking juices, or rewarmed and served over a bed of rice, or taking up room in a bowl of spicy noodles, or heck with more of the potstickers like the ones we had last night.
Now why wouldn't I think of that before? I just don't understand.
You're awfully cute when you're cranky...LOL
