Biography
Welcome to Jbug's Kitchen Antics! I'm a transplanted Canadian now living in the wild southwest with my American husband and our fur kids, Max, Finnigan and Georgie. We've lived in "Arid-zona" just long enough that fleece weather is considered anything under 80 degrees and the term "comfort food" has an entirely different meaning.
There's a few things you need to know about me. I'm a cookbookaholic. My love of cookbooks has made me passionate about food, although it's kind of the chicken and the egg thing. I mean, did the cookbooks make me passionate about food or did food make me passionate about cookbooks? Whatever, the down and dirty is I LIVE to cook. Thankfully I'm married to a guy that likes that I live to cook.
My "big guy" is a great inspiration, as not only does he eat my creations without complaint, he's also known as the "Perfesser of BBQ". Man, can he make charcoal sing...no gas for this guy (at least not in the BBQ department). If you're ever going to find perfection in my kitchen, he'd be IT!
I plan to share our kitchen antics with you and hopefully provide you with some inspiration in the dinner department. For the most part it's just plain grub, nothing fancy, certainly not gourmet. Of course I'll be trying new recipes as we go along too, so there may be some adjustments aka failures, but I promise to always to honest as to the outcome. Hey, if it's edible, is it still a failure?
By the way, this blog is a personal blog written and edited by me. Occasionally I'll make recommendations in a post, for example, I'll mention where I found a particular item and/or whether a favorite cookbook is still in print and where you can pick up a copy.
